List of Horrors

9335_159375319171_4720158_nSince forming in 2005, Antioch Secret Society has sought to invoke a variety of sonic influences pioneering a new direction in rock music. The result is a sound drawn from rock, industrial, metal, jazz, and electronica, composing a mixture of musical styles that is clearly eclectic, yet undeniably cohesive.

The compositional core of Antioch Secret Society lies in songwriter/lyricists Q and Vlad the Impaler. This melodic team is backed by the rhythmic power house of Jesse Cokelahoma and q-707. Vlad The Inhaler and Q lead the harmonic assault with inter-twined vocal melodies and crushing guitars. The resulting vocal melodies and harmonies stretch the boundaries between hook-like and eccentric, infused with lyrics that seem to owe as much to the world around us as to pure fantasy. This exotic and unique vibration lies perfectly above an anxious bed of Moog based electro synthesis. All of this gets held together by the binding force JC and q-707 maintain. Sustain’s pure adrenaline is fueled by the rhythmic patterns developed by drummer q-707. The onslaught of human minds does not stop there however, Antioch Secret Society is also known for their visual designs that complement the sound. By self producing their album, live show, and video productions, Antioch Secret Society has full control over creating an unforgiving and cerebral media experience.

Antioch Secret Society has proved to be a group that is both energetic and popular as a constant on Chicago’s music scene. The group regularly plays to awed crowds at Chicago’s Double Door and Metro venues (each with a capacity of 500 people) in addition to road trip performances around the South East including well received performances in Florida.  Antioch Secret Society has successfully shared venues with other groups as the show opening act or headliner.

Far from a haphazard pet project, Antioch Secret Society represents a mature and dedicated undertaking by its members. The group has 24-hour access to a professional recording studio aswell as the studio experience to self-produce recorded material such as the Antioch Secret Society debut album. Such a resource proves highly beneficial for the band in light of its prolific songwriting and work ethic.

Members of Antioch Secret Society are now among the founding members of both Bloody Spades and Cochino y Los Pistoleros
